Recently, the Moto 3 World Champion and current rider of the official KTM Moto 2 team, Pedro Acosta from Murcia, took the opportunity to visit our circuit and enjoy our track.
For several hours, in several entries onto the track, the rider put the demanding technical layout to the test, and once again demonstrated his expertise on the back of his mount.
In addition, Pedro signed our Champions Mural, as you can see in the photos we took to immortalize the moment.
Pedro Acosta (18 years old), colloquially known as the Mazarrón shark and originally from Puerto de Mazarrón, competed in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in 2019, finishing in second position thanks to his good results, thus achieving runner-up.
Already in 2020, he participates in both the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and the FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship. In the Rookies Cup he became the first driver to achieve six consecutive victories.
As a result of this excellent work, he was crowned Rookies champion, and reached third place on the podium in the FIM CEV Moto 3 Junior, which brought him to the attention and under the gaze of the Red Bull KTM Ajo team, with whom he finally started the 2021 season in which after brilliant performances such as that of Qatar coming out of the pit line and achieving victory, they made him win the World Championship, becoming the youngest Spanish world champion in history.
In 2022, he made the move to the Moto 2 category, where he managed to climb back to the top of the podium 3 times at the end of the season, finishing 5th in the final standings.
This year 2023 it is a clear contender for the title and in the 3 days that we have been in the championship as of the date of publication of this news, it already has two first places in Portugal and America.
Thank you very much Pedro for visiting us! We are delighted that you come to our circuit!
